Program of Research and Logistic Support in Education on the Environmental Management Process - LABOR
Line of Research: Policy and Strategy
Coordinator: Profª. Deborah Moraes Zouain
Presentation
The recidivism of the processes of environmental degradation and mobilization of the people on the whole socio-environmental topic have had a clear repercussion on the productive sector, which has been obliged to take a stance in respect of the question. In recent times, there has been a trend towards incorporation of the environmental tone and banner by the captains of industry. There has also been a movement towards the formation of an 'eco-developmental' management group. To what extent are these elements incorporated in management practices involving environmental management? More importantly, how does the educational factor provide follow-up in such practices? LABOR was set up in an attempt to find answers to these queries.
Its origins arose from the combination of recommendations contained in two documents:
Agenda 21 and PRONEA - The National Environmental Education Program. In order to implement the spirit of Agenda 21, we considered the possibility of imbuing LABOR with the ethical concepts proposed in the Agenda, with special emphasis on the aspect of solidarity. In other words, we intended that LABOR should act as a facilitator of managerial solidarity to the environmental question, manifested by a fruitful exchange of experiences and above all, in the transmission of knowledge and practices of Environmental Management between medium and large-scale companies.
