Application and Selection Process Information

Applicants to Masters or Doctorate courses must comply with the following requirements:

2. Send the documents listed below to the Admittance Office - Central de Vestibulares of FGV-SP, by mail, at the following address:

PLEASE NOTE: Documents will only be accepted if posted from abroad.

Please send a copy of the page containing the identification data of the passport or driver’s license to FAX number (5511) 3799-7894, on the same date as the e-mail with the information required in item 1 is sent.

b. One 3x4 photograph
Colored, recent, not scanned.

c. Resumé
Containing the following data:

- Professional Background
- Academic Background
- Information on other relevant courses
- Proficiency in Foreign Languages
- Teaching Experience
- Academic Research conducted
- Participation in conferences, seminars and academic congresses
- Publications

d. Candidate’s Letter of Presentation
The letter of presentation must be typed in Portuguese or English, describing:

- The reasons for which the candidate considers him/herself qualified to take the specific course;
- The candidate’s relevant academic and executive achievements in Business Management;
- Reasons for having chosen the indicated Program and Line (Área) of Research;
- Subject and research focus within the scope of the intended Line (Área) of Research.

f. Academic Documentation

- Official transcripts (notarized copy) for all college/university degrees. The transcripts must report the subject-matters taken, the respective grades achieved, specification of their insertion in courses or programs, academic hours and when and where they were taken.
- Diploma (notarized copy). Provisionally, the diploma may be substituted by a statement from the respective school, to the effect that the candidate has concluded or is concluding the course in question. On enrollment-day, however, candidates who do not present all required documentation will forfeit their application.
- Official transcript (notarized copy) for Master’sDegree, if taken, for candidates to Doctoral courses.
- Candidates residing abroad or who have completed (all or part) of their studies abroad must present equivalent documentation on enrollment, if approved. The notarized copies of the diploma and graduate course academic history must be accompanied by certified translations. The copy of the diploma must be stamped by the appropriate Brazilian Consulate in acknowledgement of the signatures on the diploma; this will be waived for diplomas issued in France.
- Doctoral candidates who have concluded their Master’s degree abroad must present the course's official transcript. The transcripts must report the subject-matters taken, the respective grades achieved, specification of their insertion in courses or programs, academic hours and when and where they were taken.
- Candidates who are concluding the Masters degree at FGV-EAESP must present a letter from their Tutor stating that the Master’s course will be concluded by registration.

g. Masters candidates whose Line (or Area) of Research is in “Organizational Studies” should submit the following:

  • Research Plan, limited to 10 pages, containing the following items:

    i – Title,
    ii – Project summary and key words,
    iii – Research Objectives,
    iv – Reasons for undertaking the project and expected outcomes,
    v – Theory involved in formulating the problem to be studied,
    vi – Procedural approach,
    vii – Data collection, and
    ix – Initial references.

h. Doctoral candidates are also required to submit the following:

  • Research Plan, limited to 10 pages, containing the following items:

    i – Title,
    ii – Project summary and key words,
    iii – Research Objectives,
    iv – Reasons for undertaking the project and expected outcomes,
    v – Theory involved in formulating the problem to be studied,
    vi – Procedural approach,
    vii – Data collection, and
    ix – Initial references.

  • Official Transcript (notarized copy) for Master’s course, if available.
  • Master’s Degree (notarized copy), if available.

3. Pay the application fee, not later than October 8th, 2010, to the equivalent in Brazilian Reais of US$ 102,00 by International Transfer, to the following:

After payment, the candidate must send the transfer receipt to FAX number (5511) 3799-7894, informing their full name.

1st phase: take the GMAT or GRE exam and send the required documents.

2nd phase: the examining boards will provide alternative arrangements for interviews at a distance. Interviews may be in English or in Portuguese, depending on the applicant’s proficiency in those languages.

Note: All documentation must be delivered by October 8th, 2010, including GMAT or GRE.
